Giants
In follow up to last night’s post, I wanted to share that the giants we fear the most are often times the easiest opponents to defeat. My reference is specifically to the story of David and Goliath and is influenced my the research of Malcolm Gladwell.
Without my notes in front of me, I will provide a coarse summary. Scripture provides key insights to suggest that, although Goliath had an imposing stature, his abilities as a nimble fighter may have been elusive. The facts that he had a tender, that he continued to ask David to come closer, and other evidence that his vision was not sharp indicate that Goliath may very well have had a diagnosable condition.
This in no way diminishes David’s heroic accomplishment by God’s hand. It does, however, provide an example to each of us that for seemingly insurmountable odds, God has already won the victory.
Today, I face what would have been a palliative diagnosis years ago. However, God has already laid the groundwork for success and I am able to watch His plan reveal itself as time moves forward.
I am grateful to each of you for your continued support and prayers. Please be mindful of the giants in your life and face them with confidence that only God can give. He knows exactly what you need and has solutions already in place. God Bless!
