Thank You!
As a new month begins, my story continues. This week’s test results were in my favor. No cancer in my central nervous system. Just one more blessing from such an early discovery and treatment. Another discovery of mine this week, is the depth of generosity of those who surround me in life. I have always been a rather unassuming individual and continue to be amazed at the love others are showing to me and my family in our time of need.
Currently, I am in my hospital bed, not feeling the best if I am to be honest. The nausea has been more difficult this evening that most. But, it is still managed. My nurses just came through for shift changed and I have a bubbly nurse who treated me great the other night. It gives me hope.
When I think about all that people are doing to support me and my family, I am truly humbled. I know that I have said it before. And, I risk this post sounding redundant. However, I must take a moment to express my profound appreciation for everyone’s support. From special meals for me to special meals for the entire family, to phone calls, coffee breaks for Teri, and the help around the house, we have been surrounded by a merry band of warriors who continue to amaze me. For that I can only say THANK YOU!
I hope that my words are sufficient to convey the depth of our appreciation. I know that I speak for Teri as well in saying so. Please continue to wrap us in your prayers and hug your loved ones each night. Invest in your relationships as family and friends making them richer than previously imaginable. They are the things that will sustain you along with God’s mercy in challenging times. Make peace where needed and shower those around you with love.
Kind of sappy tonight. But, hey, that is me everyone once in a while.
