Round Four
Well, Round Four of IV Chemo is in the books. I must say that I am excited to be finished with this part of Chapter One. Today, was a day that I knew would come but didn’t focus on. Instead, I focused on each day as it would come and go knowing that today would eventually come.
I find this to be like much of life. We live with expectations of the future. We plan so much about the future without often taking time to live in the present. As I reflect on some lessons learned, this is certainly one. We often miss the present joys because we are focused on the future.
Adages such as stop to smell the roses come to mind right now. I am guilty for stating these but not exploiting them for my own benefit. As you read this blog post, are you taking time to be present in the present? Be mindful of the blessings that are present in your life at this exact moment. We all plan for the future. However, we cannot live in the future. We must live in the present.
Living in the present allows us to be aware fo the needs of others, bless people in the moment, and hear the voice of God and respond immediately.
Tentatively, I am heading home tomorrow. My lab values are improving and the doctors feel that I will be ready. But, for tonight, I am still an in-patient. We’ll take tomorrow as it comes and I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks again for all of your continued prayers and support. I have been able to sense the outpouring of love and have been encouraged daily by each of you. God Bless!
”’Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’ - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15
