Nausea
Nausea can be a sinister thing. I’m quickly learning that the nights immediately following my IV chemo infusions are marked with nausea. This is the kind of nausea where you don’t want to move for fear of your insides all transferring to your outsides. However, I have found the great equalizer - IV Zofran.
Much of this experience is about managing symptoms and side effects. The nurses and doctors all agree that nausea should be well controlled and should not really disrupt my life. But, I need to learn how to manage it. So, tonight everything is lined up. I have a great nurse who is proactively helping me manage my symptoms and working to help me have a good night’s sleep.
And, in the face of nausea, I am still in the fight. My routine is serving me well. Each day, I make my bed, get in my steps, greet the nurses by name, and report to you from the frontlines. If a little nausea that is managed with medication is the only challenge, I’m doing well.
Thank you for continuing to support me with your prayers, comments, and texts. Every one of them makes a difference. This is a marathon. I have a good pace. And, I intend to finish strong.
“If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” Prov 3:24
